Water Filtration
Systems in Apex, NC

Apex receives water through the Town of Cary's system, which draws from Jordan Lake. Hardness varies from home to home, and where it runs high it can affect soap performance, leave deposits on fixtures, and reduce appliance efficiency over time. Apex has seen rapid residential growth, and many newer communities like Haddon Hall, Friendship Station, and West Lake feature tankless water heaters, smart dishwashers, and high-end plumbing fixtures. Hard water is hard on all of it. A water softener installed at the point of entry protects every appliance and every fixture in your home from the moment you move in.

Because Apex shares its water source with Cary — Jordan Lake — the water quality profile is similar. Disinfection byproducts from chlorine treatment are the primary elevated contaminants, and trace PFAS have been detected in the regional supply. A 5-stage or 7-stage reverse osmosis system is the most effective defense against both, removing over 99% of PFAS and disinfection byproducts at the point of use. The water from your kitchen faucet ends up substantially cleaner than what comes directly from the municipal tap.

Yes. We serve Apex as a core part of our Triangle coverage area. Call us or request a free water test — we'll schedule a visit, run an in-home analysis with a test kit, and have a transparent quote ready before we leave. Most installations are completed in a single day, typically 3–5 hours. All systems come with a lifetime warranty and lifetime phone support from our local Raleigh-based team. No obligation to purchase after the test.

Apex and Cary share the same water source — Jordan Lake — and both are treated through Cary's regional water system. Water quality at the tap is essentially the same between the two towns, which means Apex homeowners face the same elevated disinfection byproducts, trace PFAS, and moderate hardness that affect Cary. The contaminant profile shown above reflects this shared system. What differs is distribution infrastructure — older neighborhoods in Apex close to downtown may have aging pipes that introduce additional sediment or trace metals locally. A pre-sediment filter is a useful first stage for homes in these areas, particularly if you notice occasional discoloration when water has sat stagnant overnight.

Both are present in Apex water above EWG health guidelines, but for most households we prioritize both together rather than choosing. A whole-home carbon filter handles disinfection byproducts (TTHMs and HAAs) at every tap — shower, laundry, and drinking. An under-sink reverse osmosis system then handles PFAS, heavy metals, and anything remaining in your drinking and cooking water. The two systems complement each other and address the full spectrum of what EWG detected in Apex. The complete home system combines both in a single installation. If budget requires a phased approach, start with the RO for drinking water — it removes both PFAS and DBPs at the point of consumption — then add whole-home carbon filtration when ready.
